Accurate Device - And Fun

I've been using this device for a week now and I'm really starting to like it. It replaces the CE unit, which lacked many of the features that this one has and (it was wireless) had frustrating dropouts. When changing the battery I had to start all over again. This device has a rechargeable battery. Plug it into a USB port and it charges nicely. This device works with the GPS constellation but does not provide location data (latitude and longitude). The displayed speed depends on your movement relative to one or more satellites. I have no information on how many satellites are used at the same time. This means you can use this item while running or walking, it doesn't have to be on a bike. There is no need for magnets on the spokes of the wheel or a sensor next to the wheel. It has a neat feature that toggles "recording" on and off. If this function is activated, your driving data will be recorded. These are time, distance, maximum and average speed. These settings are erased when you turn off the device, but they remain when you stop recording, so you can pick up where you left off, e.g. B. after charging. Turning off the device does not clear the odometer or clock. Speaking of watches (and one of the reasons I wanted one), this GPS time is very accurate. There are three pages of data you can view with the right button (the accompanying booklet helpfully indicates which button is right and which is left). The first page contains the clock, current speed, trip distance and altitude. The accuracy of the last parameter is questionable. Page 2 lists average speed, travel time, odometer, and grade percentage. The third page lists the top speed, date (European style, year, month and day), temperature (seems to be very accurate), and calories burned in kilocalories. The latter is probably useless as the device has no idea how hard the rider has been working, his weight and the condition of the bike. Each page has a box in the corner that shows battery status, satellite reception, and recording. The brochure states that when the recording function "lights up", it means that a recording is in progress. If it flashes, it is in pause mode. I've found it's the opposite for me. The kit comes with two fasteners. Each is a plastic block that can be held in place with two rubber rings (included). The device is placed on the bracket and then rotated 90 degrees to fix it. It can be quickly detached and taken with you and recharge the battery. Now all parameter values are specified in the metric. I don't think a device with English values is available. This is not a problem for me as I live in Japan, but it may be inconvenient for others. The device comes in a plastic case that can be easily opened without cutting. The return address on mine was from Guangdong, China. If things are going the way they are I'll probably upgrade this to five stars when I edit this review.
