Review on πŸ§€ Stainless Steel Hand Grater by Sabatier by Joyce Keesling

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I didn't find any cons, but I tried.

Over the years I seem to have gotten more picky about how every little thing should work, so it's a bit surprising that I can't find anything to criticize about his hand grater. I love how it captures. The handle is very comfortable for me and the way the weight is distributed and balanced between the handle and the working end is perfect. I like that it has a large work surface but is still small enough to fit in a drawer. -- I like the size of the shredded food. It's not too good and it's not great. Of course there are foods (e.g. citrus peel) that I prefer smaller, but I do have a goal for that. It's PERFECT for hard cheeses like Parmesan. Being picky, I like to grate my own cheese just before using. I hate powdered parmesan (the kind that comes in green containers) and I hate the big grated rust that comes in glass bottles that look like little worms and are full of cornstarch so it doesn't stick. The parmesan produced by this grater is wider and smoother than the worm-shaped parmesan. This means it blends much better with the food, but you still have something substantial to try. -- Grating semi-hard cheeses like cheddar is of course just as successful, but requires more effort as the cheese is stickier and offers more resistance. I prefer to use this hand grater for any suitable job than using my Cuisinart or box grater. Cooking requires washing too many things after doing something as stupid as grating cheese. It is only one piece and is easily cleaned with a dish brush. The crate grater is a bit of a safety hazard for me as my mind is often taken by surprise and my nails and fingers often pay the price. The advantage of a manual grater is that I can hold the cheese with my left hand and operate the grater with my right. Not only does it give me more control, but it seems to require more focus, so I'm careful about what I'm doing and how close I'm to the end. If you need more cheese at the table, it can be used there. , unlike the other two options. While I don't use it to peel citrus, I've used it to make shredded carrot salad and it works great, but it's not my first choice. I still use cuisinart for this as I make a few pounds at a time. It will work with it, but will take more time. Also great for grating onions. If you just need a little and don't mind tears, go for it. The design is well thought out. It has a lid that snaps on with relative ease, and most importantly, a triangular rubber stopper at the bottom that allows you to position the grater in a comfortable position when grating on a plate or cutting board. position, and it stays that way until you move it. It's made of durable metal that won't bend or give. Honestly I'm sitting here looking at it and I think I should write something critical. I just can't think of anything. It ticks all the boxes for build quality, functionality, performance, comfort and ease of use.
