Review on πŸ”« Denix M1861 Navy Issue Brass Revolver - Authentic Non-Firing Replica for Collectors and Historical Enthusiasts by Danny Rogers

Inexpensive - not a toy

I bought this gun as a wall display for my office and for that purpose this gun looks and works well (and it's a lot cheaper and safer than buying a working Italian black powder copy, which is available if you're genuinely interested). This is not a toy - it is made to be held in an adult's hand and has no markings which could immediately suggest to your neighbors or local law enforcement that this is not genuine. Don't play with it outdoors. After all, this is a zamak die-cast model of the M1861 Navy Cap and Ball Revolver with a working butt (ramrod lever?), trigger and rotating cylinder. While these mechanisms are fun to play with, they aren't necessarily built to last and feel a bit fragile. As such, I don't recommend recocking and firing very often (in comparison, the Denix m1851 replica's moving parts appear to be more durable, although its engraving and finish may not be to everyone's liking). I like it too. holster filler for a Civil War reenactor or stage prop; However, it can't fire spaces (at least to my knowledge).
