I've long sworn by Performance Bike Elite bibs. For me, they were comfortable, durable, and inexpensive enough (I could find them on the shelf almost every time I walked in for around $25) not to worry. Well after Performance Bike left I was looking for something. to replace my breastplates when they are completely worn out. I saw them and was fascinated by the bags. They looked decent enough so I ordered a pair in blue to replace my old blue performance bibs which are 9 years old. First, I LOVE the side pockets. NO - I probably wouldn't put my phone in there. But they are PERFECT for snacks like stinger waffles, jelly beans, gels etc. They are much easier to take out and put back in your pocket without having to reach behind your back. Second, they appear to be very well made. The seams are excellent, the materials comfortable and tight, like the Performance Elite. I think that with proper care they will last a long time. At first I was a bit repelled by the poetry. It's pretty cumbersome. And I hate pads. Seriously, I buy bibs made from the thinnest suede. That's why at 9 years old I still have my elite blue bibs - suede flat. But during the first drive it got comfortable. Didn't really notice it halfway through and it absorbs a lot of sweat so that's great. After a few rides I think everything will be fine. The fit is exactly as expected and the leg cuffs are great. I liked them so much I immediately ordered 2 more!
