I have 3 windows in the front of the house and still can't decide what to do with them. So I decided to get it now. I placed this in the bottom half of the window and left the top half blank. I have attached an image. I think it looks very good like the others. Definitely better than the temporary curtains I wore for 7 months. In terms of installation, I suggest you purchase a Gila RTK500 window film application kit to use with this or any other film. Leave a reasonable amount of excess before placing it on the window. Otherwise, like me, you might find that things don't quite line up in some houses due to the lack of straight lines. Even if it seems a little small, don't panic. It expands. If you realize you've trimmed it to size but it doesn't look quite right, just take it off and start over. It is actually quite simple. The hardest part is getting it right. The toolkit of the app helps with this. It includes a very small cutting tool that you can use when the film is actually on your window. So you can crop it right on the window. Be sure to drink plenty of fluids. You can use dish soap and water or get an application product that I used. I still have blisters and haven't taken the time to resolve them yet. But sooner or later I'll come back to it. In terms of privacy, I don't think I would want that if I lived in an area where people walk right outside my window. I live in a house quite far from the road, so there's no reason for people to walk past my windows and look in. My dogs would let me in if someone trespassed on my territory, so it's not really a problem. checked and found that from the street I can see the back of my TV which is about a foot and a half from my window. I see the same thing about 3 feet from the window. Everything else looked spooky. So it's not entirely private. I wouldn't want to rely on that. I took a picture so you can see. Again, there is no film about it. The lower part is the closed part.
