Review on Cangshan TN1 Series Denali Maple Knife Block Set: Superior Swedish Sandvik 14C28N Steel Forged 14-Piece Set with Magnetic Block by Lisa Kruit

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Ease of use and comfort. Amazing cutting ability.

Fantastic knife set. Slice the tomatoes as thin as paper. Ergonomically, the handles are great. We are retired and have several quality knives including Wüsthoff and Henckles and nothing beats these Cangshan TN 1 knives. My wife uses steak knives for most tasks. They are not serrated but are very sharp and cut tomatoes perfectly. I think non-serrated steak knives make it possible to sharpen these expensive, high-end knives. The wooden block consists of 3 parts that are held together with a magnet. As you can see from my photos, we just slide out the block with the knives we need. A handy feature as our knives are under the cupboard. The magnetic feature holds the blocks tightly together without the careless loosening that can happen with individual blocks. My wife washes and dries the knives by hand, then air dries them before putting them back in the block. On the back of the block is another large knife, the santoku, which like the chef's knife is attached to the center block with a magnet. Because the entire knife is made of forged steel, cleaning during the drying process is much easier than with wooden handles. These knives appear to be fairly traded as the prices are the same from all sellers. They are sold in the best stores as well as the most popular member stores. I don't understand the one star rating. The use of the term "German" or "Swedish steel" should not mislead anyone. These are terms that denote a specific type of process and end product. A Chinese character is highlighted on the block. Portland cement from Portland cement?
