I'm a big fan of cold brew and I cook it in 1.5 liter containers. I bought this Original Grind Coffee Co. cold brew coffee maker. 1 gallon capacity to reduce brewing frequency. I was excited about the option of a handy fill tap to make morning filling quick and easy. While this 1 gallon brewery is a great concept, there is still work to be done. There are 2 main problems. 1.) The filter sleeve is separated from the filter. This makes it difficult to load the lees into the filter without adding it to the brewery. It also allows the filter to float at an odd angle during brewing. While annoying, it's still workable. 2.) The second problem is more complex. The sealing ring is leaking. The nozzle is connected to the glass container with 1 rubber seal on the inside and 1 rubber seal on the outside. While the pipe itself is very strong and of good quality, rotating the pipe causes the seals to flex so much that they leak. If you use this device to brew and then transfer your coffee to other dispensers, this product may be for you (if you're happy with the filter collar issue). However, if you want to use a simple morning fill faucet, you can try something else.
