I have used this chair as a work chair for many years. It was working fine until about 6 months ago when it accidentally decided to break. The screws failed and ripped holes while I was sitting in the chair, causing the backrest to fall and I fell. It didn't happen when I sat down or got up from a chair, mind you, you just sat at my desk and leaned back a bit. When this happened I didn't think much about it and screwed the screws back in place, using some glue to make sure they didn't loosen over time. About 1 month later the same thing happened cleaning the holes. I still use this chair but without the backrest. All in all, when the chair worked, it worked great and was pretty comfortable. Obviously, longevity was not considered in the creative process.
