Excellent addition by overheating TP-Link router

I have a TP-Link router. I love it but I build a lot of gadgets and cameras on it. As a result it gets SO hot, literally feels hot and sometimes reboots and loses connection because it keeps overheating. I tried putting little "legs" underneath but that wasn't enough to prevent random disconnects due to the crazy heat. So let's talk about this dual fan. I love it. I was afraid it would be too small, but the size is almost identical to my router's base. It can be plugged into any standard USB port; I could just plug it into the router itself, but I have a mass storage device so I used an old USB cell phone charger. There are three speeds that you can select with the switch. I installed my router using foam blocks to create a slight separation and then used black zip ties to secure the router in place (basically just one strap on each side, pulled down, works great). I plugged everything in and after a few minutes the router case overheated to room temperature. I even turned the fan down to the lowest speed and the router is still very cool. It really just needed some active airflow, but WOW what's the difference. So far I haven't had any hiccups, crashes or router reboots, so I really think the extreme heat was the problem. Final thought: fan noise is very quiet on the lowest setting. As the fan speed increases, the fan noise increases accordingly. Not bad in my opinion, but it's a fan and it will make some noise. In summary, I highly recommend using this fan for anything overheating. especially routers!
