You will need some type of oil/lubricant

They are as pictured. I bought these for my 3rd and 4th holes. I was bleeding from one ear trying to insert them and as soon as I was done with one ear I started the other, my ears were swollen for a day or two from getting the earring pass. If you are willing to put in a little effort and a little pain then yes I would take them, if not PLEASE GO. Thank goodness they didn't cost too much or I would have sent them back. I give it to anyone who wants it. I would not buy these again
