I don't claim to be a wood expert. I have several basic router kits that I can use to do restoration work on a historic home by matching the overhangs and finishes to the original wood paneling. That means I buy a lot of bits that I can only use once and some that I may never use at all (certain sizes of these router sets). However, this router set is much better quality than any other router set I have ever bought for a similar price. I like the wooden box the kits come in. I once had to loosen a bolt holding a bearing that was factory overtightened to hold the bearing in place. No big deal - it took 30 seconds and an Allen key is included to adjust the screw.
