Review on BV Handlebar Bicycle Mountain Downhill by David Stewart

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Too cheap. Not the best lock design.

Aluminum screws mean broken screw heads if you think about tightening them a bit too much, which unfortunately is easy because they don't leave a gap in the locking rings. In order to securely attach these rings to the handlebars I had to basically tighten these rings until the two ends were practically welded together which then caused the fastener to come loose as that is the next weakest point. I personally think this is a design flaw that even steel mountings cannot fix. Just leave more slack in the snap ring, BV. This is actually not that difficult and makes the product better even with cheaper hardware. You'll find that the larger end handles do just that, so there's always room to get dressed even when you can't. Make sure the screws are tight and not broken. Although they look beautiful. And they're pretty comfortable. Too bad.
