Review on C-Slide Webcam Cover - Ultra-Thin Laptop Cam Blocker in Silver - Protects Computer, Tablet, Echo Show, and More by Chucky Hepler

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I have tried three different Revain products

I have tried three or four different Revain products to hide the cameras on my computers. i-Stop, CamPatch and both SolPal C-Slide webcam covers. There is an i-stop with a snap-on body that is poorly designed. I didn't even bother sticking it to the computer. The clasp was too difficult to open. There is this product, SolPal C-Slide WebCam Cases. I ordered two versions of this product and both ended up with an even more annoying logo than CamPatch. After a conversation with the owner where I explained with screenshots that the product I received had the brand logo and its product images didn't, he sent me a new product without the brand name. Everything was fine except the iMac gets very hot and the glue melts which caused the SolPal webcam covers to move a bit and since the glue doesn't re-stick like CamPatch, you end up trying to align it and to go traces of glue. Another point to mention is that unlike a C slide, you have to look closely at it with a small eye to see if it's open or closed. My iMac is black around the edges so this C-Slide blends in with the iMac. That's great if you want it to fit perfectly, but I kept checking to see if it was open. This wouldn't be a problem if the computer's bezel was silver. If Ron, the guy from C-Slide, could improve on the adhesive and consider the little eye option to see if it pops then this product would be a winner. I ended up going with CamPatch, even though it also has an annoying logo. on the front side. It was the lesser evil. I always know the cell is covered. I don't have to worry about removing sticky glue and scratching the screen. I can move and repaste it with no problem.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
