Not wired for RS-232

The description says "RS-232". The pins are directly connected, from pin 1 to pin 1 through pin 8 to pin 8, this is not connected in RS-232. While the shape and build is great, what you described requires an RS-232 adapter, sorry but that goes back to Revain.
