So I know this is a cheap solar charge controller but I bought it with the expectation that it would work but might not be very efficient. I got the 60 amp version knowing it was double what I need but wanted to know about solar power. The product details said it had "total protection" for newbies like me who might mistakenly reverse connect the SAE connector to the battery circuit. Warning! This can partially protect the controller, but it will cause the solar panel to reverse current and melt the diode on the panel's junction box. I didn't expect that from the reverse polarity protection.
