I am a picky eater with a fondness for pink salt and pepper. So when I'm trying to broaden my horizons, it's usually good for me to have these two on hand so I can add some 'classic' flavor. I also travel a lot to foreign countries for work, and most places I've been to rarely eat salt or pepper. I understand that's a good thing as salt isn't very good for you and I try my best not to pull out my two favorites but when I have filet I sometimes just have to add S&P or at least my potatoes. These little shakers actually hold quite a bit of liquid and the lids are very tight so I don't have to worry about anything getting into my purse. I prefer a small shoulder or shoulder bag and it takes up almost no space. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I've used camping glass shakers in the past which were larger and obviously a lot more attractive but they get the job done and take up less space.
