Large Heavy Duty Pliers with blunt ends. It looks like these pliers never came with the tool sets I bought, so I run around the house to find my pair whenever I need a blunt end. I considered several sizes, but 8 inches is a good compromise. leverage and size. It's almost too big for a good one-handed grip with my medium-sized male hands (but works well). The tongs are about 8.5 inches end to end compared to 7 inches for the Craftsman tongs I had. forever and ever. I've given up on the 6" versions which would probably be too small for normal household tasks (the 7" is perfect for shower pipes, hose attachments, stubborn wine corks, etc.). The construction is solid. Hinge resistance which I expect to be easier to use. It's a very useful, inexpensive tool that should be in every tool box (and probably in every car and on every level of your house).
