Review on πŸ”₯ Stainless Steel Splatter Screen by U.S. Kitchen Supply: Superior 13" Fine Mesh with Resting Feet by Laura Evans

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Surprisingly good for special tools and devices

While not what I was hoping for, they're a hell of a lot better than some other retailers' incredibly cheap fenders. An old product called Filter-Fry would work better, but I can't find it; They used expanded metal instead of a screen, with the layers going in different directions, so there was something that actually blocked the spray rather than just slowing it down. However: I received 3 packs of screens with wire handles (not plastic handles). This is the thick material that makes up the handles and frames. Screen fabric is also heavier than discount store screens so they need to be strong and support some weight (our 8lb cat sat on one of the discount store screens and destroyed it). This is an early review as I haven't used the screens yet. We are cooking on a gas range with large burners and I expect discoloration when heating, if you "electric cook" this will happen. I didn't buy them for beauty, I bought them to control drippings. I'll update if they don't work.

Pros
  • Ergonomically stable design: The durable stainless steel wire handle protects your hands from heat and attaches securely to 4 points under the edge of the screen. This keeps the screen straight and stable when used on a pot or pan, or when its 3 support feet are placed on a stove or countertop.
