Review on Kenda Bicycle Blackwall 26 Inch 1 95 Inch Sports & Fitness by Bob Vulpes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Five stars conditional

Very good for driving on dry pavement or grass. Roll easily on paved roads (see end of comments for problems). If you read reviews on external sites, you may find complaints of poor traction, especially when starting on wet roads. Others claim the opposite - good acceleration traction even on (hard) climbs. The key to this discrepancy, I believe, is the "inconsistent" tread pattern. Compare the angle pattern of the side lugs and the centerline of the tread - they look "upside down". The directional arrow "Roll” on the side panel indicates that you should pay attention to the angle of the side handles. This provides strong grip when accelerating. The only reason I would consider upgrading to a Kenda K838 Slick or similar is that the centerline pattern creates an audible vibration when driving at 50+ PSI and 10 mph or faster - it sounds like a departing U- Rail. It's okay, but that vibration can numb your hands unless you're wearing silicone-lined cycling gloves.
