Review on πŸ“Ά Ubiquiti Unifi Ap-AC Lite: High-Performance Wireless Access Point - 802.11 B/A/G/n/AC (UAPACLITEUS), White by Patrick Lets

Couldn't be happier with this update.

We recently upgraded our internet from 60/8 to 100/10 and our UAP Ubiquiti could not support these speeds for our laptops and other wireless devices. At best, we received a constant 30 to 45 Mbit/s, so that was unacceptable for us. We switched to UAP-AC-Lite and were very satisfied. Not only is it nearly half the size of a UAP, but with normal default settings our devices are now consistently hitting 65-85Mbps over the 5GHz antenna. . 2.4GHz devices haven't seen huge improvements like my cellphone, but our laptops, which are more important, have definitely seen huge improvements, but maybe I could improve it a little more with some tweaks to the settings. At $80 it was a very worthwhile purchase. However, I would advise you to make sure your wireless devices are 5GHz compatible before purchasing as that is likely the source of your speed boost, otherwise I'm afraid you may be disappointed. Also remember that 5GHz has a smaller radius and will not reach the 2.4GHz channel. EDITED 5/18/18 Just want to let you know that I've since made a slight adjustment to my settings as our device isn't quite up to full speed, although it's actually improved. I ended up creating a separate Wi-Fi input dedicated to 5GHz only. So make sure devices that support it are connected and now our devices (laptops and mobile phones) are consistently hitting 100+ Mbps. Just what the doctor ordered. EDITED 11/11/18 I would also like to mention that we have since upgraded the internet to 200mbps and my mobile phone is consistently getting more than 200mbps when I run the speedtest app. Just make sure you are on the 5GHz network and not the 2.4GHz network.
