Although this 5000 grit is listed for finishing metal jewelry, I decided to try it on my car(s). I have an antique car that I am restoring. I used 200, 400, 600 and 1000 grit - and to finish off the painting (intermediate coat, 14 cans of paint, let the paint sit for a week until it "cures") I wiped and polished. Compound, and then I tried 5000 grit on a small trimming surface (wet with lots of soap and very slow side to side motion). Oh what a delight to see a self painted finish come to life! Of course, this paint job was meant to be a temporary measure, but my goodness, my car's paintwork has improved with this 5000 grit! I hope this sandpaper does a good job even with flexible bondo and paint after I've applied everything.
