Review on ACDelco Silver 14795B Bonded Drum Brake Shoe Set: Superior Rear Performance with Lever by Will Schimmel

Like many reviewers, I have had a bad experience with these ACDelco 14795B drum brake pads. They will not fit my 2007 Chevrolet HHR LT 2.4L engine, although the Revain, o'Reilly, Rock Auto and AC Delco websites say they are the correct pads. Like others, I was unable to install a new drum over these pads. After removing all possible sources of interference and still having no success, I compared the sizes by carefully matching the metal backing plate on the ACDelco pads to my old original OEM pads. . I have found that the top tab that contacts the master cylinder extends an additional 1/8" on the ACDelco pad for both front and rear pads (see pictures). This will prevent them from being pulled back far enough to install new drums. Like others, I removed the ACDelco pads and bought a pair of Duralast 795 pads from a local auto parts store. They matched the original pads much better and I was able to fit the new drum with no problems. Return ACDelco shoes to Revain.
