Review on Bargman 34-78-517 Outdoor Porch Light #78 - Transparent with White Base by Anthony Grover

I read all the other good reviews of this light and hoped it would live up to those expectations on arrival and it did. I'm impressed with the overall design and composition of the lamp. The lens and body are light but strong and really well made considering the weight of the materials used. It has a good lamp socket and switch. Although the lantern can be used outdoors, please note that the lantern is not waterproof. The back wall is made of thin sheet metal, in which mounting holes are drilled, the sheet metal is slightly embedded in the lamp body. This allows the case to stick well to most surfaces. At the very bottom of the housing there is a hole for water entry in case water enters the lamp from above. The way the clear lens snaps into the white outer casing feels like it sheds water easily and prevents it from seeping into that area. I installed one of mine in my RV's shower and I have nothing but praise for this light. Never had any problems. Very good light. Very happy with them. Chris
