Excellent fan. And if you could just plug it into a switch and turn it on, it would be the best ceiling fan ever made. Unfortunately, this fan can only be controlled with the supplied remote control. That does not work. Before you contact Fanimation support, you had better relax, get comfortable and prepare for the worst possible experience. These people already have your money and are in no way interested in helping you in any way. And once they go through their "checklist" and the problem persists, then it's a shame, so sad. They completely stopped communicating with me. So a $700 fan mounted on a 20ft ceiling not working and ZERO customer support. Buy something else. you will not regret it.
