The lock struck me as a good reliable design. Put all 3 on my trailer and were fine for a few months, then one day I came home from work and one of the locks on my tailgate was missing. I remembered to use all 3 locks on the trailer before leaving my shop. I looked inside the trailer and thought I might have put it there, but it was nowhere to be seen. Then 2 weeks after I locked the trailer I looked down and saw another lock. I know I locked it and removed the key, so I reinsert the lock, step back from the trailer and watch as the locking pin slowly slides out of the lock and the lock falls to the ground. I put it back, locked it again and it stayed locked after a few shakes, but after a few weeks the same problem when I come home and the lock is missing. The fact that you can push the locking pin all the way in by turning the key and pulling it out and then pushing the pin out because it doesn't grip the bars inside to form a good lock is unacceptable. WASTE OF MONEY! Spend a few bucks more on a NAME BRAND!
