Review on Lippert-733932 Solid Step: The Ultimate Double Step for RV & Travel Trailer Entry Doorway, Black, 30-inch by James Holker

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Fits perfectly. Ease of installation. Much better than stock steps.

Not disappointed with this one, especially after reading all the hype about it. I looked at both manufacturers (Lippert and Moryde) that make these types of folding steps and chose them for three reasons. Well, maybe 4.1. The top step is lower than the competition, offering a 13-inch step, almost like a landing. This makes it easier for pets and children to get in and out of the RV2 safely. Ability to add lifting assistance later if needed. Allowed me to buy a cheaper version and if the lift was too heavy I could add an auxiliary block. The Moryde Division did not have this option. The steps aren't too difficult for me, so I didn't need help getting up. I can actually lift my 3 step block with one hand. The steps are wider than the competition. I have a wider front door so I can get a wider style of steps.4. The price was also important. In fact, both steps are well done and each has features that may appeal to one buyer over the other. Both are well known brands. I made my choice and am happy with it. This product is recommended. A con. packaging is terrible and expect it to be ripped at the corner or even opened. The first one I got was open and my driver let me look inside before taking it but I declined. One leg was bent and one of the screw packs was missing. I sent it back. Of course, the Revain replacement was painless at the time, and a new stage was delivered to me a few days later. Of course, this box was also opened, but there were no damages or missing parts, so everything is fine. Big pro. Very easy to install. If you're doing DIY and have a screwdriver/drill, tape measure and a small set of sockets, you can install this in 30 minutes. Take a moment to go to the Lippert website and watch the installation video and you will see how easy the installation is. One thing to know My mobile home has a gas strut that keeps the front door open. It attaches to the bottom of the door and to the sill of the entrance floor. No level can be used at this location. The brackets are in the way. I recommend getting Lippert friction hinges (they weren't available from Revain at the time so bought direct from Lippert) which are easy to install and will hold your door in place wherever you leave it, replacing the gas spring. Actually I would have one if I didn't have a crotch! I wasn't a fan of the rack and it wouldn't let me open the door more than 90 degrees, which got in the way a bit. This product is also highly recommended and easy to install. Finally, find out what measurements to take to ensure you are ordering the correct steps. Again, the Lippert website is the best source for this. Take the time to do this before ordering because not all motorhomes are the same. Both the steps and the hinge are great upgrades!
