Ideally I would give this a 2.5 to split the difference but I round up for convenience. At a price a few bucks below the competition, it's not necessarily a bad product. This is a slight improvement over the headset's standard foam padding, and the shortcomings make me prefer using the headset with it than without. However, this is definitely not the right thing to do and falls short in many ways. Until something better comes out this works fine but once the replacement is available avoid this product. Pros: - It really helps with temperature and sweat, if only a little - It's not very comfortable, but definitely beats the feel of steel wool. the original foam rubs against your skin for hours - Very easy to put on and take off without having to detach the face piece from the headset like some competitors do - It doesn't add any thickness so bleeding is easy and the FOV remains absolutely unaffected Cons: - Silicone is not felt on the skin for a long time. It's nice and cool at first when you put it on, but that wears off quickly. After about three hours of play and also not very active play, I had to painfully peel the material off my skin, which left irritation for a while. Any movement of the headset across my face resulted in the silicone rubbing against my skin, which if you can imagine rubbing a piece of rubber against your cheek for an hour isn't very comfortable - it doesn't quite match; The downside to being so cheap and easy to install is that it just doesn't fit properly. It slips a little when you move it, and since it easily sticks to your face, it's easy to pull it out all the way when adjusting your headset. It also introduced a small issue with light (in my case) leaking out of the top left corner where the thing just wasn't covering properly.
