I have medium hair and there is a lot of it and I feel like this does the job of my old Revlon iron, sometimes I want to go back to

I've had one for almost a year and it's still working, I've used it about twice a week. I have medium hair and there is a lot of it and I feel like it does the job of my old Revlon curler. Sometimes I want to go back. I guess I still don't know the true purpose of this curling iron other than to get big loose curls.
