I have a kitchen scale so I measured the weight of my phone, the case and the rectangular metal plate that came with it. Phone = 167g (Pixel 4a 5G), Case (Crave Base Case): 42g, Plate = 7g. Total phone weight = 167 + 42 + 7 = 216 g (7.6 oz). This is too much to hold the magnets securely. The phone "slips" over time and it fell as I crossed railroad tracks. Overall I love this concept, but I don't like worrying about my phone slipping or falling. I neither need nor want this distraction when driving. So I'll probably end up sending it back. (On installation: I didn't have any of the problems mentioned by others AFTER tightening the ball harder than recommended. Once I did that everything was stable. I was also able to open the top very easily - that wasn't a problem. If the magnets would be stronger if it were a goalkeeper.)
