I'm not a welder but I have friends who are welders at work. I kept asking them to do small jobs for me and they would push me to get a piece of equipment to use in the garage and would only ask them for big jobs. I checked a few here but this one seemed like a good price for good quality. This is a very simple setup and is exactly what you need. A positive electrode holder that holds the flux stick (the flux provides the shielding gas needed for good welds that don't look like Swiss cheese) and a negative electrode with a ground clip. You will probably want to buy a flux stick and a good hard hat. A welding table was essential to my setup. I love how easy it is. The on/off switch is on the back and the amplifier setting is on the front. That's great. Watch the speed of movement and don't start with the highest amps. Anyway, I'm still learning and already have two mini-projects completed. I'll try to tackle the mount next week. A good purchase as a home workshop welding machine for the do-it-yourselfer!
