"Update " 2.0 - Hard Drive Accessories

It arrived today and I was pleased to connect it to my Mac Mini M1. While I can plug it in through either of the now prized two USB-C ports, there should be at least one swap for one without taking one away, leaving us with just one. The entire front is USB-A (2x USB 3 and 2x USB 2). I won't be returning it immediately, but if I find that losing the USB 2 ports is causing me pain, it will negate the dock's value. The only USB-C is the Mac connector. Mini. It does NOT need to use USB-C connectors. To update. I changed my mind, it's coming back. I installed a Samsung 870 EVO SSD and it delivers faster read/write speeds than my previous Samsung 860 (525 each) just not on this dock. I have 270-390 depending on the temperature. I was about to lose one of my two USB-C ports, but due to the crappy performance of the ultra-fast SSD, I can't keep it. Found a great docking station for Mac mini, my HP Chromebook. and my MacBook Pro mid 2020. OKX 16 in 1 triple display. That being said, from an aesthetic point of view I would take an updated version of this AGPTEK and would have SSD storage expansion built in. In order to purchase an updated AGPTEK (or any other Chinese version), it would need to expand the Mac mini's available USB-C ports, and only through one of the Mac mini's two provided USB-C ports. If they used both and provided 4-6 additional USB-C ports, that would be fine too. I'm looking forward to the next version of these "stackable" docking stations in the same size.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Functionality
