This cage arrived in a damaged box and was itself damaged. The plastic clip on the base was broken and some of the wires were slightly bent. I couldn't straighten the wires and I didn't want to try to fix the new product. The whole assembly turned out to be a lot more flimsy than I expected. I don't trust this cage to protect our cockatiel from our cat. A cat or dog can easily bend the wires or tip the entire cage onto the floor and break the plastic clips. In this case, the entire base would immediately fall off the wire block. I returned the cage unused. Now I understand that I will not find a strong cage for less than $200. Even our tiny new cockatiel gets a cage worthy of our revain. EDIT: I found a safe and not too expensive cockatiel cage on BirdCages4Less.com.
