Access security and flexibility

It seems to me an excellent article of great utility and security; however, in my personal experience, having bought this item with those features, I have not wanted to spoil it and I have to force it to open it, because the combination password was changed in a failed attempt to change it. Since then, I have been unable to enter the exact password. Do you have any safe method of opening it without damaging it?
