This is not a "Kryptonite" bike lock. It's more of a subtle reminder, hmm, hey, don't leave with my stuff. While the cable itself would require a fair amount of force to cut through the plastic panel, the small metal-tipped snap-in inserts are weak points and don't inspire confidence. The connection between cable and locking mechanism seems particularly unfounded. The first device I received could not turn the key to remove the lock from the cable. He turned around as if full of sand, but didn't let go. I had to return the first set. When I received the replacement I sprayed the lock straight away and it completely changed the way it worked. The key actually rotates to the right, not the left, so to unlock the lock the arrow in the manual may be meant to indicate the rotation of the barrel. Again, this set will likely keep the occasional klepto at bay, but a determined thief and a good hard tug will likely take your stuff with a bang.
