Calibration plaques are not included so you will need to purchase your own to ensure dry film readings are correct. I haven't found a way to force smaller shims within tolerance, which means the sensor isn't very accurate at the lower dry film thickness, which is what I need for my job. There doesn't seem to be a way to manually calibrate the device to make adjustments for shim tolerance. If that were the case, this machine would get 5 stars, not only because it needs to be able to calibrate correctly, but also for its phenomenal performance. I love instant readings and values are posted as needed.
