When I first had to install a water filter, I encountered the same problem that others have described: the water still tasted bad, even after spilling gallons of water. The reason was that the OG filter had to be screwed in so tightly that I was afraid of breaking something. Not sure if this is just for the first filter you install, but this replacement filter went smoothly and effortlessly. The water was cloudy for the first gallon or so, but it's clear now and tastes great. The air filters are easy to assemble and very similar to the originals. I'm not sure how well they work, but I haven't noticed any strong smells yet. This set works great for me for a fraction of the price of LG. If I need more in 18 months I will be back!
