The main reason I bought this card was to replace the Auzentech X-Fi 7.1 sound card on one of my PCs where I dual boot Win XP 32 and 64 bit. It was a sad day that I had to replace my Auzentech card because it was the best sound card I have ever had. Unfortunately, despite Auzentech's amazing sound quality, I encounter compatibility issues with newer games, namely games released from 2008 onwards. As I'm much more a gamer than an audiophile, as much as I missed that, the card had to be replaced. That's where this card comes in. It meets my important compatibility criteria with both Win XP 32 and 64 bit. On top of that, it's compatible with every game I've thrown at it - old and new. And although the sound quality isn't the same as my previous card and the difference is pretty clear, it's still very good. Even for the price I paid (the Auzentech card costs about four times as much), I'm happy with the results. One issue I encountered early on with this card was the overbearing echoes I heard in some games. However, this is an easy fix (see the comments section for info). Conclusion: If you are looking for a versatile and affordable gaming or music sound card for your backup (gaming) PC, I would recommend checking out this card.
