Review on Steeda 555 8101 X2 Ball Joint by Jeff Bundrick

X2 Steedas for parts

That's cat meow for those of us who underestimate our Mustangs. I just got my 1996 Cobra 1.5" with an Eibach Pro-Kit spring set, plus a Steeda steering set and rims/camber from Maximum Motorsports [X2 not supplied as pictured eg pinch bushings on side]. In Discussions with other customers (see questions) and Steeda (via 3rd parties) the splines are the latest X2 models available - I'm sure the 'smooth' model (as pictured) will work just as well as the spline model X2 is just a model number. For example Steeda makes a model X5 which is a later model Mustang (not as old as mine.) Ball joints are a MUST if you go under 1.5" didn't want to bother with fender issues later.

Pros
  • Reduced understeer at the corner limit
Cons
  • Safety
