I bought these calipers for a very specific purpose that required them to be set in place more or less permanently, so I was looking for something cheap and wasn't too concerned with accuracy. They're surprisingly well made considering the price, so I measured their accuracy and repeatability. Both are surprisingly good. If you know how to read a vernier scale, they will read reliably to within 0.05mm and perhaps more accurately (nominally the scale reads to within 0.01mm and 0.001 inch, but reading the imperial scale gives me a headache). Accuracy is fairly good over most of the scale; The pair I bought differs by +0.02mm. It's damn good. That doesn't mean they are perfect. The handling is a little rough, and instead of a thumbwheel to help with precise movements, they only have a small knob that *looks* like a thumbwheel. However, dollar for dollar is a great deal. If you can read vernier scales and need a cheap but reliable caliper, this is a good choice. If you don't know what you're doing, you can easily spend ten times as much and still measure less accurately.
