I needed a workstation to use at home while recovering from ankle surgery so I needed something with a gap to raise the leg. goes well with my "knife hand" image showing the gap between the tray and my foot on the bed. It was packaged a lot more than I expected from the start, with thick foam for each corner and cellophane inside the box. The legs unfold easily but only lock up with friction so time will tell if they need to be tightened to keep them folded when I want them flat. Use a 17-inch Dell Precision M6600 laptop that fits snugly in this compartment and has enough room in the back for the power cord to be plugged in without tension. The power cord dangles from a bar meant to support a tablet or phone, but makes no contact when plugged in; hardly. I imagine it would be very easy to use a drill to make a cut out for lower cable entry requirements. There's plenty of room for side ports, more than enough room for a coffee mug if I pushed it to the side. I really appreciate the bottom lip on the front of the tablet as the last one I used was higher than my laptop's palm rest and left a painful crease on the underside of my wrists after use. My thinnest Asus laptop still exposes the front edge, leaving just enough room to avoid this issue with this tray. Can't tell if it's sealed or if I spilled something on the tray, but the fittings look tight enough that I'm not worried about that just yet. The back edge to support your tablet or phone was open enough to accommodate my thick Otterbox phone, so I think it will accommodate most tablets as well. Overall, the tablet feels solid, looks well made and is fairly light. The legs are cross-slit and can easily be adjusted/tightened if needed. For these reasons I've given it a 5 star durability rating, but I'll update if I change my mind. Initially I was very happy with this product and glad I bought it. Enjoy!
