My old cap was Ford junk and only held about 8psi. Yes. Immediately after installing this new radiator cap, the truck was leaking coolant in several places! The truck never built up enough pressure to detect leaks until I had a good cap. You need to keep an eye on your engine and watch for coolant leaks after replacing your old cap with this one! Anyway, $2,000 in repairs to replace some hoses and I'm back in business. I expect a lot from my pickup and was very upset to find out that I had just driven my touring trailer 4,000 miles across country and through the mountains that summer with a cooling system that only maintained 8psi. I'm so thankful my engine survived. Don't wait - change your cap now.
