So I started building a gaming rig a few months ago so I needed something more powerful. A lot of people have told me that 8 cores is impractical, but this was my first setup and I wanted something that would last. I multitask like crazy and game quite a bit and it launches games smoother than I ever imagined. I may never go back to consoles. Every game I tried at the highest settings alongside my Radeon HD7770 ran flawlessly with no lag, frame drops or choppy gameplay, everything runs smoothly. I've run games like Skyrim, Dragon Age 2, GTA4, Assassin's Creed 3, Sims 3, etc. on the highest settings with no issues. This processor was recommended to me, but I'm glad I chose it. On the downside, the stock CPU fan is pretty weak, but that's to be expected from a stock heatsink. Overall this is a great processor, maybe not for those hardcore gamers with huge machines, but it did everything I was hoping for and more.
