I bought a larger 1"-2.5" straight blade that holds a Balco 655. I was so impressed with how easily and quickly I could scrape paint and light stains off the large sections of my stair railing that I came back for are smaller built for the more difficult sections and parts of the Balco 625. I wanted to make sure I got the right ones blades to really get into every corner of that railing. But the price of a Balco blade is LOVELY (a tiny teardrop blade is $10). When I saw this carbide set, I was immediately enthusiastic. When I compare them to my Balco woods I don't see any noticeable difference.
