Delivers the Dialogue

Mine was delivered yesterday and I'm convinced already that the AccuVoice technology makes a huge improvement for those with hearing difficulties. AV will also flatten out the over boosted commercial volumes. Many newer flat panel displays leave much to be desired regarding speaker quality, and all low priced TV's would benefit from external audio additions, this device is hands down a winner for improving general TV play all around.I'm buying a second for another room to enhance the viewing experience.Installed this one at first, direct to the Comcast box, which has an Optical Audio port as my Insignia TVs lack those.the included instructions walked me through how to change over from TV volume to the box.five minutes and done.found an online code that allowed the Xfinity remote to control Volume and Mute for the AV257.However, Mute does not equal Off. the Comcast box was still sending a signal to the speaker.one still needs the Zvox remote to turn the unit off.then re-installed with RCA audio cable in their box to ZVOX miniport.when TV is off, the ZV will, if not manually powered down, go into sleep mode as it is not finding any input signal for whatever the default time is.much simpler.the Zvox device uses a small box 12V adapter with a decent length cord.plug the thing into the power strip with your TV.mine came direct from the manuf - one year warranty. hope it lasts. it really sounds good for the size.played a recorded PBS drama from Great Britain where the dialogue sometimes gets a bit dicey to make out and the words came thru loud and clear.

Pros
  • Works great for someone with hearing aids. Pairs easily with flat screen my tv and sound is perfect.
Cons
  • The remote control is basic and not user-friendly
