We did our research and knew it was a huge risk in terms of cost, assembly and hassle. However, we felt this would meet our needs with the best option available - if it works. But when a lot of assembly work turned out to be too much for our skill and throughput, we had to give it back too. That's why we waited for it to be available with Amazon as seller and shipper, not 4x4 (US distributor) as seller and Amazon as shipper. We had no interest in "justifying" ourselves or demanding a refund after several unsuccessful hours of bloody sweat and tears. The lack of good assembly videos with good light and in English from the American distributor 4x4 is nothing short of a horror. and is a major disrespect to US consumers. Based on other reviews, consumers say the retailer is friendly, answers phones and emails, and replaces missing parts. It's great, but that's not the point. It's about making it doable for the consumer - PROACTIVE - rather than waiting until the frustrated buyer even has to do it themselves. Also, did it occur to you that some people might pick these up after hours and calling them might be awkward or impossible? Looks like they might know it's the only game in town, so why bother or spend money to give away a few units in exchange for some decent unboxing and assembly videos, or a few videos yourself to make and then donate the finished boxes. to charity after the videos are made? The official videos available were clearly made in Europe and not in English as there is no sound or commentary, the lighting is terrible and the steps are performed in a different order than the written instructions. By the way, written instructions are worse than the worst Ikea instructions. This is why so many rely on YouTube for Ikea builds, but guess what? There are no such useful videos on You Tube for Variocage. No wonder the average consumer of this product hasn't posted many assembly videos on YouTube because they would have been full of curses, tears and broken marriages. Also, I don't recommend collecting it near your dogs because after seeing how frustrated Mom and Dad are collecting this noisy device, they might not be tempted to enter it later! travel stress-free by car, that's good. Manufacturers and dealers obviously have their hearts and minds in the right place, despite the head full of farts about assembly videos. If you don't mind risking the cost of shipping it back to Amazon (which I think would cost a few hundred dollars to return, plus the nightmare of putting everything back in the box), then you probably wouldn't have a problem. But if you're just a layman and don't like packaging things with fuzzy instructions, then have your tissues, CBD gummies, and your marriage therapist on speed dial before you order.
