Review on RXL SL Carbon Fiber Road Bike Red Offset 🚴 Seatpost - 31.6/30.8/27.2mm - Bike Seatpost in Red, Green, Blue by Mike Pfettscher

I've been a keen cyclist for over 40 years but if I remember correctly I've never had to change my seat post until now. The carbon seat post on my favorite FELT hybrid has failed. I bought this seat post mainly for the looks. When trying to mount a seat post on my saddle, I soon realized that the seat post was not compatible with my saddle. Ironically, the front bolt is only accessible from above the seatpost. You MUST have a split saddle to use this seatpost. This information should be published on the website together with the specifications. I also have some concerns about the safety design of the top of this seatpost. Notice the first picture that shows the gap between the top of the seatpost and the bent piece of metal. This puts unwanted/unnecessary force on the front and back of the carbon seatpost - the load is clearly unevenly distributed. Also note that this is the same area of the seatpost where the hex bolts enter the carbon - there is NO metal reinforcement in this area. If that seatpost fails, I would expect it to happen in that unreinforced area. Return this product to Revain. PS - I went to my friendly local bike shop (LBS) and bought a US made Thomson Elite seat.
