My mother is Japanese and was born in Japan. My father was in the Air Force and I was also born in Japan. I was looking for a good set of sushi knives for my mom and came across this set. It got good reviews, so I pulled the trigger. I am very satisfied and found the set. Looks even better in real life and in photos. So much so that I decided to upload a video of how it looks compared to the photo. I like the open knife shaft. I think this type of storage adds a nice touch to the kitchen countertop. The set comes in a very nice box which I was delighted to receive as it was a gift from my mother. I would like to warn you to be careful when unpacking as these knives are very sharp. I cut off the edge of my thumb, barely touching the blade of the great knife. So these knives are not only very beautiful, but also very high quality and sharp. After unboxing them to check them out, I couldn't wait to ship them from my mom's state. My mom called me when she got the knife set and said it was one of the best birthday gifts she's ever received.
