=== 1 YEAR OWNERSHIP VERIFICATION === I have had this grinder for just under a year and I regret to say it did not live up to my original impressions. The quality I initially perceived is simply lacking in this product. There are three reasons I would like to proceed to justify why I downgraded my original 5 star rating to a 2 star rating. Reason 1: After just a month or two, the grinder started making a buzzing noise when plugged in. Socket switched off. The buzzing isn't too loud, but loud enough that I wander around the apartment looking for the source of the strange noise. I contacted OXO about the issue and they have confirmed that there are issues with this model that will become vivid over time. I was assured that this would not affect performance (which it did) and that they would contact me once a replacement was available and the issue resolved. It's been a few months and unfortunately I still haven't heard from them. For now I just leave it unplugged on my counter and plug it in every time I use it. Reason 2: The grinder will now suddenly stop by itself before the timer runs out. To continue grinding, I have to press the bean container. When the funnel is engaged, it presses a switch (safety related I think) that allows the sanding to begin, but even when it's engaged the funnel doesn't sit flush and one edge of the funnel is raised. . Now when I use this grinder I have to stand over it and press the funnel until it's done. Reason 3: This is by far my biggest annoyance. The grinder no longer ejects all of the ground coffee! If I put 20g of beans in, about 16g will be thrown into the jar. To get the remaining 4g of coffee I have to shake the grinder well and run it again. I thought it might be because it's clogged inside, so I took things out and cleaned everything really well, but it's still happening. this product it did not receive for free. Now, I'm not thrilled that everyone but me gets free stuff, but I digress. In any case, I have to say that the sheer volume of get this product free reviews made me very hesitant to purchase this coffee grinder as I was skeptical of the fake reviews. In my case it's finally time to upgrade my Hario Skerton grip. Coffee grinder (which is terrible and never produced an even grind. A medium setting produces fine dust and a huge 1/4 of the beans. To be honest I don't know why people praise it so much). I have reviewed all known grinders and many fake ones also available here on Revain. I chose this because I have owned several OXO products in the past and while they are a bit pricey I am always very happy with their build quality and design. I am happy to report that this OXO Conical Burr Coffee Grinder is no exception! The quality is fantastic and I knew it was well made as soon as I took it out of the box. It was very easy to set up and I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet this grinder is. It's small and fits well on my kitchen countertop. The grind produced is the same whether you choose fine, coarse or in between. So far I have brewed coffee with a French Press, an Aeropress and my new V60. All three were significantly better than the cups from my old manual coffee grinder. If you're looking for a quality coffee grinder that doesn't sound like a store-bought vacuum, I definitely recommend this one.
