This is a well made product. Feels solid and well designed. The lid has a rubber seal to prevent water ingress. Haven't tried it on the water yet but I have a feeling it will work well. It also comes with a rubber gasket for use between the frame and the mounting surface and all necessary hardware. The locking latch is one of the best designs, lays flat and slides left to right to open. Not the lift and turn T design that others use. This hatch is a nice addition and looks exactly like some Future Beach kayaks come from the factory. It fits perfectly in a space where some just have a flat, bowl-like front storage compartment covered with a rubber lid. Just cut a flat area and glue it in. Fits like it was made for it. This is the best storage hatch design I have seen and one of the best modifications you can make to Future Beach kayaks.
