Review on πŸ” Maximize Aesthetic Appeal: Elite Screens ZCU4 Universal Ceiling Trim Kit for In-ceiling Projector Screen Installation by Wilbert Luoma

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Needs a little more forethought, quite good

As with other reviews, the instructions are rubbish and don't provide enough sequence information to install this. I bought it for a high end screen and built it into a drywall ceiling. First, if you don't have access to this kit, it's not possible to mount the screen yourself from below (you'll have to carry it above the ceiling to mount it). Second, the design tolerances obviously didn't account for the thickness of the paint. It took a hammer and a hammer drill (it seemed superfluous). The brackets that came with the screen don't fully cover the ends as "plugs" like the factory brackets did. This leaves exposed wires - not ideal. As a last helpful tip, model everything on the floor (casually) and then plan how you're going to install it. I recommend having someone install it for you. This gets more complicated as you have to methodically choose which pieces to install in a specific order, otherwise you'll paint your way into the corner or quickly get frustrated. Depending on your application, this kit may require some modifications.
